OPI German-icure By OPI

The second and final polish I got from OPI’s autumn Germany collection was German-icure By OPI.

It’s a brown-toned red shimmer. The base is where the brown lies–the shimmer is red. In the same way that Every Month Is Oktoberfest was a red shimmer in a purple base, this is a red shimmer in a brown base. And whereas my qualm with Oktoberfest was that the shimmer overwhelmed the base, my beef with German-icure is that I wanted more shimmer. Again, it’s simply a personal preference. On me, it seemed like it would lean pretty heavily brown, especially in low light when the red shimmer wasn’t reflecting. Here it is next to a brown dresser.

And here it is next to a brown polish, Sally Hansen’s Forbidden Fudge.

Do you dig the brown tinge to German-icure by OPI, or do you prefer a traditional deep red shimmer? Or are you a color hoarder and can argue for both?
