Orly Prelude to a Kiss

Oh boy. Alright. So, this polish.

This is Orly’s Prelude to a Kiss, from their spring 2012 Cool Romance collection. And I have to say, it doesn’t look half bad in the photo. It’s a lovely, opaque peach, with just enough pink in it to not be weirdly orange, but not so much pink that you’ve got another damn pink.

But reality is harsh, and this polish disappointed me. The formula left a lot to be desired. Like…everything. Opacity, leveling, dry time. It’s not even that it was hard to get it opaque, because it wasn’t. But it was streaky, and pooled up in weird spots, and settled in ridges like it was a foil or metallic.

The color is truly gorgeous, although sometimes I felt it looked a bit chalky–but I’d blame the formula for that, more than the color.

Overall, I am sad. If this is what comes before a kiss, just gimmie a brownie instead.
